Logic Matters 15
Welcome the fifteenth edition of Logic Matters, The Logic Group's e-newsletter for clients and partners. As we drawn towards the dark evenings of the autumn, many of us have been left feeling disappointed that the sun never really shone on summer 2007, at least not in the UK. Yet at The Logic Group we remain bright and enthusiastic with a host of new developments and events on the horizon, some of which we share here with you in this packed edition of Logic Matters. In a follow-up article, the new Vice President of Consultancy, Ian Glanville, shares with us some of his journey to date with the Logic Group and the Consulting Team. We review our latest major event, our annual partner conference and announce the winners of our Partner Awards. This enchanting event was held at the Magic Circle HQ in London and was a day to remember for all who attended. We further include an article about The Logic Group's dedication to PCI DSS compliance and details of our managed service offering. This issue ends with a story about 'going the extra mile' and the work that took place on a recent exciting Logic Group project, which had our teams working around the clock.

Welcome to the fourteenth edition of Logic Matters, The Logic Group’s e-newsletter for clients and partners. The lack of summertime weather across the UK and the continual onslaught of rain has led to a few dampened spirits, as many of us jet off to sunnier climes for holidays. At The Logic Group spirits have been kept high with a number of new developments, our best ever month financially, news and reviews, which are packed into this edition of Logic Matters. Firstly a review of the success enjoyed at the Retail Solutions Show 2007 and plans for the 2008 show. We take a look at the added value of marketing analytics, which discusses the need to adopt an effective measuring strategy, requiring a change of corporate culture. We share news of new client, National Express and the added value they have found by implementing the Enhanced Security Solution. Also there are news items including the launch of our PCI DSS survey, Smart-TPS Payment Page and our fast approaching Partner Day event. Finally, an introduction to how The Logic Group have new initiatives led by Ian Glanville, VP Consulting and Professional Services, that will take the value delivered to Logic Group clients, on to the next stage.

Knowing your customer in a meaningful way, gaining insight into their behaviour, is what all businesses are constantly striving to achieve. In its simplest sense, insight means understanding who your customers are; what they think; what they want; how to make them feel secure; and how you can shape your business strategy to deliver around these elements. In this issue of Logic Matters, we focus on what we as a company can do to look after specific needs of our clients, and their customers. We discuss payer authentication: making e-commerce secure and ensuring that our clients can continue to accept Maestro transactions online. We consider PCI DSS: highlighting how non-compliant companies will be deserted by their customers, but how the Standard will improve customer security. As a trusted provider of funds transfer, we outline the top ten reasons for choosing our Managed Service for Business Process Outsourcing. Customer insight can shape and direct business strategy and we consider the importance of testing and execution of marketing programmes in the Financial Services sector. We introduce four new key members of the sales team, and with industry-leading knowledge and expertise at our finger tips, we discuss the benefits of referring a friend or colleague to Logic Matters. Finally, we look ahead to Retail Solutions and discuss the services, solutions and products we will be showcasing to our clients there.

A very happy New Year! For the IT industry, the association between January and its mythological inspiration, the Roman deity Janus, is fitting, summoning up as it does, images of gateways, portals, and new beginnings. Moreover, Janus was frequently used to symbolize change and transitions such as the progression of past to future, of one condition to another, and of one vision to another with an ability to see both forwards and backwards at the same time. This seasonal dichotomy is reflected in this edition of Logic Matters. We look ahead to the future with The Logic Group exhibiting at the forthcoming Retail Business Show; launching Smart-TPS, a new end-to-end card processing service; working with the insurance sector to ensure PCI-DSS compliance; introducing new members of the sales and consultancy teams; and predicting key industry themes for 2007. Our future is necessarily shaped by our past, however, and we also talk about the replacement for communications networks within our Managed Services offering; we consider our loyalty and insight capability; we assess the benefits for our procurement of third party services in enabling outsourcing; we feature purchasing cards; and finally, analyze our predictions for 2006.

Welcome to the tenth edition of Logic Matters, The Logic Group’s online newsletter for clients and partners. ‘Christmas brought to you by The Logic Group’ is probably an accurate description of the extent to which both merchants and customers rely on our products and services at this time of year. The Logic Group is proud to be involved with innovations which have revolutionised Christmas shopping this year: ground-breaking gift card centres at Sainsbury’s and kiosk solutions offering enhanced purchasing functionality at HMV. Thinking about Christmas past, present and future, in this issue, we look back, reporting on a successful PCI DSS programme of events; and a nationally recognised loyalty programme for the Co-op. We look at the present: considering an innovative mobile coupon project at BP, and celebrating customers being live in our new data centres; and we look ahead: to an Enhanced Security Solution which will facilitate PCI DSS compliance, and a cashless future as contactless payments are rolled out in London. We wish all our partners and clients a happy Christmas and continued success in 2007.
